Business Description
Solwise do technical distribution. By this we mean that we do more than just shift boxes. All our products are carefully selected to represent the best value for money within their sector. If we can't offer something special in a product range we don't carry it. We also understand our products. Whether you need help selecting a product before buying, or help to get your system working when it arrives, we will be able to give quality advice. This is because we are a small company and care about your business, as well as ours. Our main areas are ADSL, VoIP, Networking and Wireless devices, ISDN terminal adapters, Smaller PBX's, and computer telephone integration. Where-ever computers meet telephone lines we will probably have something to offer. Founded in 1991, Solwise Ltd. are a UK based 'Direct Channel' importer and distributor of Telecoms and computer products.
Product Description
When BT first launched the ADSL (asymmetric digital subscriber line) service in the UK all the client side or customer-premise-equipment (CPE) was supplied by BT as part of the service. This has all changed with the introduction of the 'wires-only' service. On this service, you buy the service from an ISP who makes arrangements with BT to make changes at the exchange to enable ADSL on your standard telephone line. Since no engineer calls at your home or business, it's up you to choose and source the necessary hardware. You will need at least a modem, to make the high-speed data connection, and some splitters, (sometimes called micro-filters) which insulate the new ADSL signal from your standard phones. At Solwise we stock an expanding range of ADSL modems for both single computer and network set-ups. Our modems support all the variants of the ADSL standards used on BT and KC lines in the UK. Here are a few notes to help you decide which is most suitable for you.
